Newburgh was the most significant city in southeast Indiana during the end of the 1800s. There, the Newburgh Steel Company had its headquarters and the Cincinnati Northern Railway came to an end.

The Galt House was built in 1817 and was named after its owner, Dr. William Craig Galt. Galt was born in 1789 and was one of the first physicians in Toronto; he is most remembered for his work in establishing the first school for the blind in Canada and for his role in founding the University of Western Ontario.
The first Galt House was a small building. It was owned by John and Thomas Rundle. The house was used for a long time as a private residence.
Then, in 1912 it became the office of the Toronto-Dominion Bank. The bank moved to a new location in 1964 leaving the Galt House as a private residence. Several different businesses including hotels, restaurants, and shops have used it!
When you go to visit the Galt House, you will find yourself surrounded by history. The place is decorated with pictures of famous people and places in the city.

If you are a person who likes chocolate and ice cream, you will surely love the place that I am talking about. This place is called "The Refinery". It is a cafe located in a building that used to be a distillery.
The restaurant serves all kinds of ice cream treats, from classic flavors to seasonal ones.
You can enjoy the ice cream for free, but they charge extra for the toppings and syrups.
But, this isn't really that much of a problem because the food and drinks served here are really great and you will really like them.
