I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful nature preserve recently and was absolutely awe-struck by the sheer beauty of it all.
The preserve is a 4,952-acre expanse of hills, valleys, and canyons of the San Gabriel Mountains and is home to a variety of native plants and animals: it is a true natural paradise, and I was mesmerized by the incredible views from the top of one of the ridges; from up there, I could see for miles and miles, and it was breathtaking.
The preserve is also home to some of the most stunning hiking trails I've ever seen.
The terrain is varied and you can take trails that take you up to ridgelines, down into valleys, or across meadows and canyons. I spent several hours exploring the trails and never got bored.
The preserve is also a great place to observe wildlife.
There are several species of birds, reptiles, and mammals that inhabit the area and I was lucky enough to spot several hawks, eagles, and coyotes during my visit.
